The lantern is a X246 Guardsman but I've never seen Gallery bushes (#2200) like that before. The top of the dome seems flatter than usual too; does it have the patent number stamped on it ?
Hi @Darryl Durdin … unusual stuff? I know it sounds strange and it might just be the photo angle but would you just check that they fit into the holes on an x246 hood as from here they look on the large side ?? Sorry to be a nuisance Regards pb
Their construction appears to be too consistent for a home production. So I’m guessing either a same threaded Tilley part or some other lamp part with the same thread. Cheers Pete
Darryl The burner with that patent stamp is found on X246s, especially early in the series, before the shorther burner was manufactured. Cheers Tony
If you machined the part of a pl button down (the bit that has the clip on cover) halfway through the little holes it might look a bit like it? .. I’m not sure how many little holes there are or whether that would even match up to Darryl’s one? Do they have 12 holes under the cap/cover ?
Well speculate as much as you like but I'm going with my good friend William again and suppose that they're a design Tilley tried for some reason and quickly discontinued...
.. or perhaps another distributor? Unless more turn up we may never know.. like a lot of ‘Tilley-isms’
