I tried to compare the new mantles from Coleman to some older mantles but these new Coleman mantles wouldn't cooperate !
There could be some bad batches. Are those new style packaging? Unfortunately, the old Silk Lites are no longer made.

I have, on the generic Chinese pink top mantles! They rip as they're being burnt in, exactly the same as these new Coleman mantles. Hmmmm I wonder where they are made?
very disappointing. all Coleman products I use are excellent quality, that's why I keep going back to them for my camping gear. so far I have 2 Coleman pressure stoves, one of which I just purchased a few weeks back, 2 small tents, a sleeping bag an some other odds and ends. but yet to procure one of their pressure lamps, which I intend to soon. those mantles are letting their reputation down. love that red Coleman lamp BTW
