It looks a lot like a al 15 but it also has that head from a al 620. You could see the similiarities from Dr. Marsh's site Tilley industrial lamps & lanterns
Might it be one of those repaired spliced lanterns?

    Hi Darryl,

That that looks to be an AL15; the burner head looks to be from a later version.

    Hi Darryl
    Nice find
It may be date stamped on the top but not always easy to see with paint and age
    Cheers

It appears that I have a combination of 2 styles of a similar lamp
@podbros @John @Reppie , I am led to believe it should be a AL15 with a mica globe and a double air intakes, it has the mounts and screws to fit the bigger curved shield, all hood , I’ll start to look for the original parts

Having it back to original would be nice; but it will work as it is. That’s what I love about Tilley.

They probably got tired of faffing about trying to change mantles ; using that set up is much quicker which is probably why it evolved into what it finally became ?

It's an AL-15 which has been fitted with a Tilley CH-1 conversion hood and burner and a 182 globe and it has the proper wire guard, which is useful for measurements if you need to make replica wire guards.

The burners are the same but there are a lot of variations in the shape of the part where you tie the mantle.
The air tubes are of course different lengths and the AL15 has the buttons.

    Hi Darryl
I’m sure you could sort out the tin work and brackets for this yourself? Your work with mica globes was really good.. perhaps you could use or adapt an FL6 burner until one comes along?
Easy for me to say with you running a scaffolding business.. never a dull moment..
