I just got this today, due to the Dixie Fire close by, was hard to get back from town where mail from most of the small communities affected by the fire had there mail moved to. In trying to dismantle it, noticed a clip that you press down slightly and the whole vent, cage and mica chimney come off in one piece with a very slight twist. How cool is that, never seen the likes before. Not only that, has a ceramic burner piece in the burner cap that looks partially triangular. Wow! Also has the rod under the cage that operates the pricker and has the swinging lighting door. The chimney is marked "Coleman", so may swap it to a Coleman lantern. Most dust I have ever seen on a lantern, textured like slightly rough rust. Bearing rattles in the fuel cap. Going to see if I can access the air tube to check for bugs and spider webs.
Working on a nickel Primus 96 right now, dated "AD", 1939 to add to my large 96 collection. Up and running, no peening needed for the lipstick.

Fettled enough to get some blue flame out of it, will tie a big mantle on after lunch. PW washers are too thin to seal, threads on the cap seem to bottom out a tad too soon to make a good seal, oring will have to do.

Up and running now. Easily flooded, so a few seconds of panic, flooded or bad leak? :)
The area where the lower part of the perforated vent sets on is bent some, so will have to figure out how to proceed as that perforated part with a heat shield plate is kept in place by a winged, "U" shaped bracket, no way to pull it all off.

Just thinking, most old lanterns or lamps need some coaxing to clear the generator tip, this took right off, I let it run maybe 20 minutes or more, felt good that didn't appear to loose pressure or faulter. Fount was fairly clean, did a bb and nut shake anyway, just the gray dust was all that compressed air blew out. Thanks for looking, already had a request to trade. So many cool features on one lantern, forgot there is a shield of sorts by the valve. Never seen anything like that. May yet do a lye soak to see if the fount will clean up and show some nickel.

Thank you. Worked the vent over yesterday with ratchet extensions and the curve of a large crowbar. Vent pieces fit better now. Currently doing a lye bath soak of the fount. After running yesterday, fount got pretty warm, plenty of thermal feedback.

Great score Duane. Hope you keep it as Id like to see it at a campout. I picked one up too but its deep in the fettle pile. Congrats on the Coleman mice. Thats a nice treat.

I have two of this model, a couple very slight differences. Obtained a aftermarket mica chimney, gave the holed one away as seen in one pic that was marked Coleman.

Well Duane, I hope you can bring both to next campout so we can do a compare and contrast with mine. I’ll make an effort to remember to toss mine in the ‘bring’ pile for next gathering.

You have room for one more lantern or stove?

Duane, I've got a couple of those 335's, great running lanterns. I would like to get the 334 version with the larger fount someday.
How did the nickel clean up?

Both of mine are not the greatest. One has a big dent, may be why it sold cheap and the other has a bad rash in one area, but shows well with that facing away. Bringing both this week for a NCal Gathering on the California coast. Coolest lanterns I have with the many different features than other lanterns.
