@Dale Main Welcome from Toowoomba Queensland. She looks to be in fairly good nick and should restore well. Looks like you have some other Tilley parts there as well. By the way, I like your bench top, it looks to be new. Looking forward to reading your future posts and seeing the pictures, including the “money shot” (a picture of the lamp’s first light after restoration) of the table lamp. Cheers Pete
Yes. Always liked Tilleys. Used them a lot. Only found out this year when I decided it was about time I purchased one that they are no longer made. I’m going ok. I have more than Im sure about. Maybe fifteen including lanterns I had idea about. Cheers
Hi Dale - welcome. They are still made (well - sometimes) but only the x246b Paraffin pressure lamps I can see a bright future for all those ones you have in bits tho ! Chris
Thanks. I look forward to my involvement in this community. Yes I already have quite a few going. Mostly X246 and one BR49. Two heaters, two table lamps a few more X246 to get going. I’m really starting to enjoy the restoration process. Fettling, that’s a new word for me. Sharp learning curve. Only realised its not all about elbow grease last night. Working on cleaning quite a few lamps at the moment but struggling with parts. Both table lamps it seems require new globes. I’ve ordered some but possibly eBay isn’t ideal. Thanks.
That’s my Kitchen. Too cold outside at the moment. I didn’t mean for it to get that out of hand. I had a house full last year and would not have got away with that. One child and family now not residing with me. Good and bad. Grand kids gone more time too.
Oh. I didn’t know that. I guess it’s good news but I’ve learnt enough that the better lamps were before the X246B. I think I have 4 of them and one on the way. Three a goers and one came new in the box but purchased a good while ago. Thanks
Hi @Dale Main and welcome to the forum. What’s a kitchen table for if it isn’t for fettling lamps? I guess there still plenty of interesting Tilleys out there waiting to be found, the buggers do have a way of multiplying without you noticing.... Stevie
Welcome ! A great selection of lamps and lanterns and nice to see the wire support for the lamp shade has survived
