I have known since I was a child. My grandparents used it to protect the top of the wood / charcoal stove. The gas stove was only used in the summer. So here is Zebracier (for a silver tint) and Zebraline (for a black finish) The result on parts of my Ditmar Maxim
They look good .. I have seen and used a similar black one which used to be called “Zebrite” and which I think is now called ‘Zebu’ ? I don’t recall ever seeing a silver version, so something new!
@podbros , The denominations depend on the country, I have always known these two names since my childhood.
This is the stuff I use. … and its effect on the cast iron frame of a French Flamme Bleue ‘Le Flamboyant’ kerosene stove.
I have used black stove polish on cast iron stove frames for some time, but I have never seen it in silver. That would be nice to have.
That is interesting.. they say it can be used on wood which is good ! Strange as I seem to remember that the black stuff I used never dried so perhaps a different product?
Zebrite is/was a paste. ZEBO was more or less the same compound but in liquid form. zebo stove polish at DuckDuckGo
