Received today, not sure it's a 501. No marks, the handle looks special too, as the pump knob. An adapter ring for a glass of PX 500 The jet and needle are ok, just the needle that's stuck in the vapourizer
It has the looks of it. The bail/handle is custom made to hold a long stick. Like a flag you can walk around in a parade with light. This was not uncommon. I have a custom (heavy) bracket someone made to carry an optimus in a parade. Globe cage has a modification to hold a smaller (?) globe.
After a bath ( hot water and white vinegar 50/50 for brass parts, and citric acid for steel parts ) I've a little problem, i've the rod, but no needle holder, someone can give me the dimensions ( external diameter and length please ) ? And to finish, how to dismantle this part ???
This might work, but it will disolve the pricker. Dissolving steel without damaging brass Otherwise, more soaking in the cleaning solution and regularly try gently to rotate the stuck pricker.
What is the diameter of the pricker rod? Perhaps a Radius 119 pricker coupling nut (part 119/09) has the same thread and dimensions.

Normally the lower part of the vaporizer is simply screwed in with a lead washer e.g. like at Hasag lanterns. However, this one looks to be firmly soldered on by an earlier user. You could try to melt the solder and screw it off, but also the fitting soldered into the tank may come off, and even the fitting looks odd to me (which might be the reason why it was soldered this way). The excenter is best removed by gently heating the bushing and pulling the stuck packing out, but pay attention to the small disc inside, which is the stop for the stuffing box. The packing can later be replaced with some PTFE tape. The connecting part for needle and rod is an approx. 5 mm long sleeve with a continuous thread like on the needle, the outer diameter is also approx. 5 mm dia to fit into an inner tube for the vaporizer. Between this inner tube and the vaporizer there's usually a brass mesh which fills the gap.
@WimVe , That a good question. So i let it in place ! Today i finally extract the excenter axe. It was blocked by a fiber that looks like asbestos. I will do the sealing with graphite. @Martin K. no small disc inside, just two rings 5 mm long, and the asbestos braid in between. I do not have the correct diameter brass, so I will make the connecting piece with aluminum
@Martin K. I found the connection piece, it was stuck in the inner tube. Lots of deposit in the tube. This part is exactly 7 mm long, for a diameter of 4 mm
That's good news. I wasn't sure about the dimensions, but in my opinion it would have been highly unlikely to have a needle and a rod without that piece. I had several times serious problems to dismantle the vaporizer in complete without damage. But burning off the carbon/tar/oil residues and after that an ultrasonic bath with citric acid helped a lot.
Could someone give me the number and dimensions of the openings on the ferrule / collar that I am missing? I found a "Petit navire" tin can of tuna that was the right size

Hi @podbros , I just removed the excess solder. The surface is well oxidized at this point. I have not yet tested the tightness of the tank.
What do you think of this ferrule? I dare not do the oblongs, for fear of missing the realization. What do you think ? Do I leave it as is or do I try to do as a Ditmar?
I think it’s excellent. My view is that, as it is a repair, it does not need to be a reproduction — it becomes part of the working life of your lamp. Cheers Tony

It's running again With a mantle and a glass Now I have to find/make or buy a pump knob, and thus reduce a slight leak on the weld.
