I just recently got an old nickel plated Coleman lantern the other day and I'm having a tough time figuring out when it was made. It has the number 5 on the left side and 12 on the right. If someone could help me date this that'd be great. I'll post pictures of it too.

Hi Josiah and welcome! That looks like a nice old lantern

All I did was to do a search for Dating a Coleman and had a browse?

I may be wrong but to me it looks like the 5 stands for 1935 and the 12 is the month?
I am sure that someone will be along to tell me I’m wrong as I am quite frequently

If it is correct then all credit to @coleman54 and possibly other learned Coleman folks not me!

What are your plans for the lantern?

    regards

Look on the collar, the band between the fount and the burner frame and see if there is a model number stamped on it.
