Hi all, This is a French "Garba" gasoline parabolic heater from around 1930, give or take a couple of years. Most, if not all parts of this heater, are unmistakable Guenet & Abbat "Succes" brand parts, and the heater is similar and most likely identical to the Guenet & Abbat Succes 156 parabolic heater. Attached to the back side of the reflector disc is a round brass badge saying - License "Garba" - So this is either a heater bought in and retailed, or by license made and produced, by Garba. The Succes brand lamps, stoves and heaters are known for the numerous parts, used on their GPA,s. It is not likely that Garba has made this heater from scratch, with all that tooling needed, but more probably had Succes heater parts assembled in their own factory. Why Garba by license had this heater for sale is quite mysterious, as Garba from mid 20,s had their own full line of parabolic heaters; gasoline, kerosene and town gas. Maybe a mystery to investigate? A bit of work on this, mostly cleaning and it ended up in a successful and sweaty session in my shed. /Conny Before" ….. Really a curious old heater and still intact one piece. Quite a lot of components as compared to other brands of heaters.
