Very nice 236.
I read the year stamping as 33, representing 1933 .... or is the year stamp 38 representing 1938. I can’t see the month stamp though.
What should I be seeing?

I notice the Coleman logo moved under the filler cap on the later models but I don't know when the change was made.

That is a really nice 236. Very well preserved. Looks like it had not been used that much.
Has anyone seen a 236 in any of the old Coleman catalogs?

I note that Terry Marsh says that A 38 (first quarter of 1938) is the earliest production of Coleman 236 that he’s aware of:
