Good evening I came across this Agm lamp a couple weeks ago at an antique store and brought it home. Couple questions is it a f66 ? What year manufactured? And how do I pressureize font i jabbed 3 Coleman lamps however this font is quite a bit different?
It looks like a P66 to me, love the design of these lamps. It’s an old lamp, closing in on 100 quick; and looks to be in pretty good shape. As far as pressurizing goes, it’s pretty straight forward, loosen the small screw to allow air into the tank and use an external hand pump to add pressure; tighten down the small screw and you are good to go. The original hand pump had a threaded end that would screw into the tube on the cap. It’s tricky but yiu can make a regular Coleman pump work, you’ve just got to line up the whole and hold it in place. Thank you, John
I wonder if the required pump is what I see offered on the bay a time or two each year. A rare pump and lamp for sure. Duane
@Kenny1769 This is an illustration of the pump used on the P66 (from a 1912 AGM Catalogue). Cheers Tony
You can make an adaptor by stripping the rubber from an auto tyre Schrader valve and cutting a thread. I think it's M6. It may not be a perfect fit but a wrap of PTFE/Teflon tape and it will be good enough so you can use a cycle pump. ::Neil::
