Hi there, Our drummer in the band had finally given up on this cymbal cracking and was about to put it in the bin. I said I'd have it, trimmed it down to get rid of the cracks and made it into this. I hate to see things been thrown away. It works great!!! Saved myself a few quid to buy another lamp
That looks really good, how is the rigidity with the centre cut out? I ask this because I brought a pair of hi hat cymbols to use as reflectors on a chandelier lamp I started on, I have not cut the centres out yet but I did have concerns that the outer bit i need would be a bit to floppy to be much use. @James K The rigidity is fine James. This cymbal is about 2mm thick and I think the forming marks on it also add to its strength. It was a bugger to trim with tin snips and also to enlarge the centre hole so its pretty tough stuff.
Excellent! That must be the toughest reflector ever made! If it was polished and nickel plated it would look totally incredible!
