G'day. I've been attempting the follow the YouTube videos on dismantling my X246 and have come across this which I've no clue on dismantling. Any advice here please? I started it up last night but have an Sp1 on its way and would like to be able to fit all the new washers springs etc. Thank you kindly.
Hello and Welcome. The screened brass part unscrews anti clockwise; there is a spring, cup and pip under it. They can be tight and sometimes require a pair of pliers with a rag between to prevent marring. Thank you, John
Thank you. I took out my magnifying glass and noticed it was indeed a screw type. Without good vision it had appeared to have been punched in. Dismantled now and thank you very much. I indeed look forward to giving this burner a service and seeing how well it runs. My pin is blunt however, I cannot feel the tip protruding, would this be an issue? Much appreciated.
The tip of the vaporizer usually is a pin prick on the end; I have had them work at flush but prefer to feel them extend out. Best way to know is to try it; it may surprise you.
Thanks. I tried the press method and it doesn't poke through from the end. Was fired last night and seemed to be okay, minus the leak from the leakage from the control cock.
Welcome, @Aerodyne. The cleaning needle is stepped at the pricker end. If the fine tip is broken off it won’t protrude. Post a photo of the pricker end. I have some spare prickers. Tony

Hi Tony. Hopefully this image is clear enough. I've managed to dismantle all besides the inside of the control knob. It definitely doesn't protrude from the tip given the push method on a hard surface. Do you think the tip has broken? Thank you for sharing this image. Quite informative!
