Hello guys, I’m new and I came here to seek some help. I restored an Aida 1250 express recently. But there is an issue I can’t fix. It burns the hole tank( at least 470ml kero) for just 2.5 to 3 hrs. I tried several times all results the same. From official data it could burn for 6.5 hr. About the restoration, I replace all the gasket. It hold pressure well with no leak. I also set the height of mixing tube in 13mm against the jet. The mantle burns nice and bright every time. I just can’t figure it why it burns so quick. I’ve tried pressure it to red line and set to 1kg but the burning time difference was only about 30mins. Any suggestions for this, cuz I don’t know where to check.... Hope to get some answers. Thanks everyone
Hi! I notice that the jet is of Optimus brand, and since it fits it might be ok, but it might be of wrong CP size. Check that and the needle. Regards Matti
Welcome @Broting, maybe you can or should check if the pressure indicator shows the right value. They are known as indicators more then giving the right pressure. Like in your case 1kg which is strange because they normally indicate in Bar and then run at 2bar.
Hi there, thanks to reply I got to admit I didn’t read what unit shown on the gauge. But I’ve try ran the lamp in 1bar, 1.5bar and red line but the all make only little difference. Ran on 1bar gained about 30mins more give or take... And I tried it with two pressure gauge, so it really confused me where I’m missing. I bought an new authentic set of hk250 needle and jet, I’ll see how it goes later! The old one on my lamp was a Optimus 200 jet.
Moin, The cause can also be deposits in the upper part of the carburetor. The fuel is then not heated and gasified as much as it should and the consumption increases because more fuel with less volume flows through the nozzle. Most of the time, however, a fatty mixture can also be determined, which means that the lamp burns yellowish, or the mixing tube even glowing. If you look at the amount of fuel that escapes when it is cold, it becomes clear how much the temperature is there. If the fuel came out of the nozzle in liquid form, the tank would be empty in no time. That just means that the better the fuel is gasified at a higher temperature, the lower the consumption. I hope with the google translator I can explain where I mean it well enough.
hello guys: Latest report after I put on a new jet and a needle, tried light it up twice today. It can burn 5.5 hrs now, so the old jet was worn. But there's still 1 hour short to the official claimed. Or it is good enough for an HK250 I'm not sure.
Well I think that back then as now, advertising is a job. So the mentioned lighting hours may be a little "to good to be true". In an ideal situation, controlled temperature, ideal settings it may happen but under normal conditions it will not happen.
I think you’re right. I’ll just let it be in present condition. As long as it works fine and bright there’s nothing to worry about.
Looks good but it seems that there is a leak between the clay burner and fixture. Look at the burn marks.
Hi! WimWe means it might leak here, You can apply some exhaust pipe mould to help seal it. Regards Matti
Well I would not just exhaust putty but simply turning it will be fase one. Fase two some kitchen silver foil. I have even used the remains of a mantle tie. Exhaust kit , I only use when the burner falls down freqently.
