I have got this Coleman 327 QL from France. The date of manufacture is 5 1,i.e.January 1925. She has a different micaglobe. I've made a makeshift repair and hope to buy a new one. I don't know which micaglobe was originally intended for the French Coleman 327 QL ? Regards Reinhard
Thanks for sharing all your hard work! ..Great photos! You say about a new mica globe but to me it looks fine...is it damaged somewhere or have i missed something??
So I have! ... Silly me.. Thanks @Henry Plews ! Yes, I see why it might be prudent to perhaps do something with the mica...or rather the lack of it p.s. there is also a forthcoming appointment at a well known opticians in the near future
@Reinhard Hello Reinhard, I just saw that you also have a Coleman from France. It is in an excellent condition! Unfortunately, the support frame of my lamp is very rusty. Can you tell me what color you used? I would like to rework my lamp again. Grüße Christian
Hi @Reinhard All the 327 QL I have ever seen in France was all painted gold I think the mica with the door with "drop of water" is the good one for this period https://weblampesapression.wixsite.com/lampes/coleman-usa-et-canada
@Reinhard These are very good and reliable lanterns. Yours looks like a beauty, well done she looks great and she lives to see the future. Enjoy Pete
Thank you all again for your contributions. @leo I just bought a spray paint from a hardware store - nothing special. @Michel I would particularly like to thank Michel for showing his exzellent sides. I especially love Coleman's types 327 and 427.Its indestructible, robust construction reminds me of the USS Monitor(1862).Very american. Reinhard
