This was a very clean looking, albeit careworn 1001.
    Easy fettle I thought

Pricker mechanism was tight, I thought it had a seized spindle again.
    Oh no it wasn't.....

Pricker rod made and mechanism fettled in this post HERE.

Cage and collar went into the electrolysis bath for a couple of days, rust removed and given a coat of VHT lacquer.
Fount given a really good clean to remove all of the rust and debris

Burner rebuilt with old jet (it cleaned out OK), remade pricker rod and new cleaning needle.

New mantle fitted and burned-in. I'm getting better at fitting them to 1001 burners

Mica cleaned as delicately as I could. Its still a little myopic but I am happy with it for now.
Its held fairly snugly in the "Lip" of the hood as I thought it may, whereas the glass tends to be a "rattling" fit.

Quite happy with how it turned out, although I really must get an order in for an assortment of mica globes
