Well after a couple of months of owning the 300x I've finally got round to having a look at it .
Just a service pack and a new mantle was all it took to get this beauty bursting into life .
Now for the next step a complete strip down a citric acid bath and probably a respray of the font .
    Good times.

Sorry if you already know but do not put the enamelled cap in the citric acid - it goes very dull (yup got that T-Shirt)

Definitely a keeper Chris yes been there before with citric but lots of polishing gear so no real problems unlike the veritas superb I have on the way think that will be a different story.
    Cheers
    Pete

Absolutely I was expecting more of a problem with leaks etc so it was nice when she fired up first time.

This will be my first veritas so looking forward to it though I've heard they are quite temperamental.

I think most people heard that rumour. It stopped me buying one for years until a CPL mate pursuaded me to get one and I haven't looked back! I've ended up with 4x 350s and 5x Superbs and only one of them acts up, one of the Superbs, but I think it's a worn jet so easy enough to fix when I get round to it after Christmas has been and gone! I don't own one of the Dutch Army petrol/gasoline models so I can't comment on those and anyway, they're a bit of a hybrid. It might be that they messed up Veritas' reputation but I love 'em!

Well that's given me a bit of confidence the only problem I can see is probably parts like jets I've been looking at basecamp just in case but their out of stock at the moment anyway no point in jumping the fence till I get to it ,I'll post a pick when it arrives
