Hi all ive just acquired a tilley tl14 or 13 and a bit baffled why there is a decal on the font reading tilley lamp ex100 could anyone shed any light .many thanks.
That (large) shade looks bit weird on such small lamp. I would use 7" vapouriser for better proportion. No clue about the decal...
I like these small simple but convenient lamps. I guess that the label tell you its a genuine Tilley.
Is it an EX 100 tank converted to a table lamp? I can’t see if it has handle mounting lugs from your photo, it should have a table lamp decal on the underside of the tank if it is a table lamp. Regards Firestarter
Hi firestarter thanks for your reply. Yeah the thing is there are no ex100 handle lugs the decal looks original from the factory .
How curious, normally the tank would have been painted which would have covered that decal. Is the underside painted gold? I have a 106 and a 136 both with the base painted gold/brass and both with table lamp decals. Maybe someone had a bad day at work and stuck the wrong decal on. Regards Firestarter.
Hi i thought the wrong decal. The underside is painted black and the font was originally painted gold because I can see gold under the decal, first I thought someone had used a R1 font and made up the lamp but why put a ex100 decal on can't way it up.
