Who chooses these names anyway? Much the same Pic I posted after Storm Irwen with the addition of pup Maggie, the SuperPooper. Only 8 hours without power this time luckily.

Hang on, it was last month !! ;)

Don’t you feel the need to swap the duties between both your FS1s’, Jean??

Yes - why names anyway it's a storm, measured well enough on the Beafort scale for Sea conditions and on land as 'winds of storm force', measuring xxmph.
Don't see any called Shirley Temple or Beelzebub . . . Meaningless names.

8 hours without power just as well the lamps were ready. Well lit.

In Scotland particularly but also in the rest of Europe naming storms is pointless imo. In the US or Oz where they get huge, town obliterating weather events it's great, but where I live we get windy and/or rainy days so regularly, giving them names is barking mad! Since naming started we've probably been round the alphabet at least twice!

    Example:
    Jan 29th - Malik
    Jan 30th Corrie

There will be more I'm sure.

We had winter storm Kenan this past week end, took a couple pictures during and one after out of my waist high window. At least you don't have to shovel your storms lol 20220129_154512.jpg 20220129_183302.jpg 20220130_091128.jpg

    Hi,

we’ve had a couple snow storms, very mild by our standards but still a real PIA. The snow storm that just hit Boston was suppose to hit us! We once again dodged the bullet!! Our luck can’t hold out forever!:-({|=
