A while ago I spotted a TL14 tank online . There were no fittings .... Just a bare brass tank . I could not resist the challange of making up a lamp . I had been looking for a TL14 for a while . The tank turned out really well . No dents and in very good order after spraying and cleaning . I had most of the parts to complete the lamp but the handle turned out to be a serious problem . I did make one (of sorts) but my metalwork skills leave something to be desired and in any case the brass I had was much too thin . When I tried to lift the lamp with it , it simply distorted !!
I posted on the forum here hoping someone may have a spare unwanted handle to sell . After a short time , Stu contacted me to say he would be willing to make one for me . An offer not to be refused !! After a short time he contacted me to say the handle was ready . It turned out superbly as I hope you can see in the photos . The lamp is now complete and one of my favourites . A big thanks to Stu for helping out . So good to be part of a group of fellow enthusiasts who are always willing to give their advice and help to others . Nice also to preserve and enjoy these delightful and fascinating lamps .
Best regards to all . Noel

Seems like you are Stu the handle maker now !! Well done .
Mine has had much admiration . I bore all my guests with tales of tilley lamps . Even give a demo now and then . Scares them to death !!
    Regards to all
    Noel .

Here is that handle fitted to a 1930's short Tilley table lamp, which I restored today, Jeff.
