Found this lamp at a 2. hand shop in Denmark. Made by AB B. A. Hjorth & Co. Stockholm. Sweden. Obviously not working. Handle missing. Not original glass. This glass are from Suprax, and I'm not sure it's the right size.
Nice find. After some cleaning, you might be able to check if the pump still works. The leather cup might have hardened, torn or missing. If its still there and not crumbly, some light machine oil might make it useable again. Others would chime in to assist you in getting the lantern functional again.
Thank you. I started the cleaning process. Some parts are very stuck, - so I gave them penetrating oil and now I will wait for tomorrow. The cleaning needle are broken. And I do believe the leather cup are beyond repair. I gave it some oil but it might be too late. I got some spare, so not a problem. I have spare needles too, but not sure if it's the right size. I found a "exploded view" at this page: http://www.fogas.se/rwdx/files//991-1020s.jpg
Do not use acids to clean the enamelled hood/top. They will cause a permanent hazed appearance on it. You're fortunate to have Fogas as your parts supply source. They are possibly the best source for these. Since they're in Sweden, they did stocked up quite a lot of parts for old Swedish lanterns. Since you're in Denmark, I believe @Nils Stephenson would be your closest expert on Primus lanterns.
That looks like a nice challenge. Most importantly, the spirit cup is there. They all too often missing. Being a Primus 1020, it is almost guaranteed to work well in the end. Even if it is not the prettiest. Just send me a PM if you need help. There are also other collectors in DK that could help. They might be closer. I live in Søborg.
Thank you Nils. I'll give a shout out if help is needed. It's not pretty, agree. Leeding to my thoughts; Should it be restored and look new, or "just" cleaned and made to work? After all, the look is part of the history of the lamp! I will try to make it work, but look as it is when cleaned.
I like to have as pristine an example as possible in my collection, but if it is to use seriously, it only needs to be clean.
Great project, I have a lot of respect for these and the 1001 series, they really are easily maintainable workhorses. Alec.
