I didn't put any pictures in my previous post as was pointed out, so this is specially for you guys that like looking at Lanterns as well as talking about them. I am NOT very good with a camera, and worse with a Moby so these are all taken with my Panasonic Lumix DMC-T265.

Vapalux M320, This was actually the 2nd lantern I bought Because the Butterfly was too high a candle power for my little flat, It wasn't cheap but it was a first class refurb job so I have no complaints. On reflection I was enticed by all the shiny brass and excellent overall finish and if I was buying again I would look for a more original example.

Butterfly 500, The First lantern I bought and I think its a Beauty, I believe its an Indonesian Butterfly as apposed to a Chinese version, the reason I think that, is its Tank and hood are Chromed brass as opposed to chromed steel.

And finally a bit of an odd one, I bought it because its a bit of a cutey, Its small(150/200 CP?) and it had only been fired up to show it working for its sale, so is in mint condition and came with spares and accessories but no box unfortunately

Its quite well made considering it obviously a Chinese mass produced jobie for the Chinese home market. The only thing I don't like about it are the pop rivets on the top of the hood and just above where the handle is attached, and because the hood is attached to the inner workings its just not worth modifying it.

I also have a Petromax that's never been used, unfortunately its about 2005 vintage and is a Chinese production, BUT I have gone all over it and to be honest I can't find anything wrong with it, especially for what I paid for it. I also have a Coleman NorthStar in the post winging its way to me, I know, another controversial Lantern, but I wanted a petrol lantern. The ignition is working and I intend to coat it in a thin layer of epoxy to preserve it as that seems to be its biggest drawback. That's it though, I don't intend becoming a collector so Five lanterns is more than enough---- Do you want to hear about my camping Stoves? Oh wait, that's for your sister forum isn't it lol

The little Chinese lantern is an Out-D model L6. Sold as a 100cp multifuel lantern and mine does work better on naphtha but it will be safer to use only with kero. ::Neil::

@Mackburner Thanks for the Info. That explains why the destructions say use Out-D mantles. Call me a pussy if you like But no way am I going to use naphtha on ANY Chinese lantern let alone on a cheapy like this L6. It runs fine on paraffin, the only thing is the meths/alcohol tray is too small and too low so I have to use the quick starter which works fine as long as you keep the pressure up.

I don't want to become a collector BUT, You can add a Petromax Rapide 500, A Coleman Northstar and a Coleman twin mantle 295, all recently acquired, to that shelf LOL.
But seriously if I have a bit of cash spare, and an interesting lamp becomes available I might be tempted to add one or two more! The same goes for petrol/paraffin camping stoves which I seem to be accumulating at about the same rate as the Lanterns.
