Hi fellas this is a RL 6 (reflector light) ? I came across this a few years ago. I thought it was time to get it back into service. It is very cool.
Commonly used where the light was projected to light up work area, it works well.
As found condition. I had removed the globe for safe keeping

the bottom cylinder is for the meth jar I don’t know what the other rings are for ?
I dismantle it . It was in good order.

The reflector was pitted mostly around the lower rims, the back had a lot of flaky paint. I cleaned up and polished the reflector side but not to revive the finish , it would never be like new, I cleaned up the back repainted with UHT paint saved the kopsen sticker.

The font was dirty and a little pitting , I cleaned it up to keep the originality of the lamp.

The hood, burner, insect guards, vaporiser and cock valve all cleaned up well.
The globe was a bit special, it is rather heavy duty, it has thick glass walls?
The red tinge I assume is from being burnt, it’s original to this RL.

The frame looked hand made the spoggy sh#% welding in some parts gives it character, it was cleaned up with my sand blaster I painted it with rustolium grey hammer tone, looks the part.

I made a heat shield as I’d seen in an old advert. Thank you @Anthony for some directions

    Good stuff !
It seems that they used the AP2 fount, rather than the HR11.. but not on all the examples I could see..
Darryl, would you say that the reflector support on yours was off a heater? Or does it look like it was made up specially?
    Thanks

Apologies if these questions have already been asked elsewhere

@podbros , I think it was made up, the welding is a bit rough the bracket that holds the reflector looks custom made as the holes are not quite right, still hood job though

    Nice restoration of the unit.
Usually Kayen mimicked Tilley, so puzzled why no rivets on the frame.

    It’s great!
I was looking at the other fittings and I am only surmising but I suppose you could have a container for the methylated spirit, the paraffin/kero and maybe a funnel? :-k
