Or rather, an unlikely one. Ad on Gumtree for two Tilley guardsmen ad ID1427541025. Hope posting this isn’t against CPL rules.

    For those wanting a laugh
    Description
Pair of antique tilly lamps. I know one was used on the battle field of ww1 at the somme. Brought back by great grandad who rode the cannons and looked after the horses in the horse brigade.

Well if the canons had wheels and the carriage was pulled by horses. You can "ride" a canon.
Btw the "Boeren" used Summit pressure lanterns Made in Holland.

I can remember that the Guild website had a topic with curious advertisement texts.

Not to take away from the absurdity of the ad but British Horse Artillery did have part of the gun crew riding the limber and in some cases there was a seat on either side of the barrel on the axle of the gun carriage. The set up for the 18 pounder was a six-horse hitch with a driver on each of the three off-side (left) horses followed by the limber (ammunition cart) with three crewmen riding the limber followed by the gun. So one could indeed have ridden the cannon, or damn near it. However, not while lighting the way with a Tilley.

The first segment is just teams with limbers, then come the full rig.
