In this post a spare part list for no 185 is found. It is the only information about this heater I can find. It is similar to the one in the post but definitive another model. It is a bit odd in design as the flames are all covered by perforated steel sheet. The burner design is also strange, It has glow pieces made of asbestos covered steel wires. Of course I should have take some shots inside before I assembled it. That was a real challende as it has been laying 3 months in parts an I had forgot how I took it apart. I find that every part has to be assembled in exact order to be able to put togeter. It took me 2 hours before I managed to get it right. There is a lid on the side, don't know what it is ment for. I think it is of approx same age as this stove. It has the same enamel and same control wheel. Bo
It must have been a top range, posh model I’ve never seen a gauge with Two needles.. is one of them a ‘float’ type? That must have taken some fiddling thought ? Regards edit: did you get it going at all? I suppose the asbestos prevents that..
Hi all this heater is the last version of the 4096 Lilor gasoline heater https://weblampesapression.wixsite.com/lampes/copie-de-france-liotard the 4096 have two knobs : one of the gasoline, one for the air At the starting, You have to open both the air and the gasoline in order to spray the cold gasoline (same system as PX preheater) after 30 seconds, you stop the air, the burner is hot enough to run alone this 185 heater is presented in a 1937 (perhaps earlier ?) catalogue i have The preheating is the same in the principe, but with only one knob you only need to open the knob, light the burner and wait a little, before to entirely open it Lilor produced also a single and double stove with the same technic. This is unfortunately "the song of the Swan" of the gasoline heaters and stoves here in France Lilor is already working on the natural gaz apparatus which will be largely produced after the war @Bo Ryman YOu can find the patents of the system with the patent numbers which are usually noted on the heater
