I have just acquired this Turkish lantern. I had seen another on eBay and this is the second I know of although I am sure there will be more out there yet. Marked as Yűksel Turk Mali and has a logo with S i m twice on the side of the tank and in the centre of the base plate. It is a 250 cp kerosene lantern and apears to be a copy of an Optimus 200. Not in pefect condition as some previous owner has cleaned it with wire wool that has scratched it rather badly but it functions well and as an example of a lantern from Turkey I am very pleased to have it. As yet I know nothing about the manufacturer. ::Neil::
Hi from TURKIYE, this lantern very similar with petromax 250 not with optimus. The lantern(Yuksel) quite good quality and shiny light. I also have clean one.
@Unsal erten Welcome. It would be good if you started a new thread and posted pictures of your lantern.
I only suggested Optimus because the pump cap & rod with a slot and bar to lock down is a typical feature of Optimus lanterns and as far as I know never seen on a Petromax. Otherwise I agree it does have the general appearence of a Petromax 821. This 250cp lantern is the only model of Yuksel I have listed. I know very little about lamps from Turkey so perhaps you can help with information about the manufacturer and possibly other models from this brand. ::Neil::
There are 3 different lantern manufacturers at Türkiye, one of them is yuksel, the other one “Erbilux” the last one name unfortunately I forgot, first letter begin with “K” Pictures from erbilux very rare lantern
I have listed Erbilux, GÜVENAL, Hasat and Radium from Turkey although I believe Radium is a retail brand not a manufacturer because the tank label is soldered on a Hasag 55A lantern . The Hasat lantern has the Erbilux logo stamped on the tank.
