I found a stateside seller that had a nib 3/300 for the same deal Lehman's was giving me for a backordered one. The bad thing is it showed up with the globe shattered. I contacted the seller to report it. Has anyone tried the small bulged globes from American mantle company? Amazon has them for 22 bucks and they fit the 200/242 Coleman's.

The bulge globe for a Coleman 200 / 242 will fit the Austramax.
I haven't tried an American Mantle Co. globe.

Thank you for the replies, the seller is deciding what to do. Otherwise I love the size , I will post pictures later. Much smaller than my 639c and 228e.

I received a partial refund to order the small bulge globe. The reviews are great for it, the straight sided glass that came on the lantern did not have any markings. Not sure if they tried replacing the globe or if that's how they come now.

That is the standard glass supplied with the latest Austramax lantern. They stopped using the bulge globe some time ago.

That I know, I still thought their name was on them. I prefer the bulge glass anyway. Still surprised how small it is. Very useful.

… a good 300cp mantle that forms a ball or a drupe rather than a straight sided sock.

Have only found vintage mantles labeled 300cp. Some on Ali are listed. Some unlabeled in Amazon and Fargo has400/500 labeled but not their 300/400 anymore. A few new ones are 3 to 9 USD ( American mantle and one other brand) might try a few unlabeled brands in small amount to try out. Here she is, during a wind storm, in my mess of a barn , a 228e I picked up is apart and I screwed up some threads but that's another story.
