Before I had upgraded my laptop (the one I'm typing on now) I used to have a table that showed the jet/tip letters with the equivalent orifice dimentions... ie, I = 0.06, P = .078 etc etc (these are made up numbers obviously!). It has now disappeared just when I need the information. Would anyone have a copy of this table or be able to point me at a downloadable or viewable version in the internet somewhere? I have a Comeman 286 with an enlarged jet. I also have a few old stock jets but I have no idea what the letters mean without the size chart. Alternatively, if anyone has a useable 286 genny? Thanks in advance.
Yes, thanks for posting the pdf. Was looking for it the other day but Doron Papo's website no longer exists.
In my post HERE on my Mil-Spec (Coleman 252 pattern) lantern I’ve discovered that the list is incorrect in respect of the Mil-Spec jet orifice diameter and also the size it gives for the Coleman 222 jet. The latter’s specification in the list is 0.005-inch (0.127 mm) and that for the 252 is 0.0045-inch (0.114mm). However, the diameter of their relevant pricker wires (built into the generator for the 222, accessory tool for the 252) is in each case 0.15mm, measured by (trustworthy!) micrometer. Clearly, the jets must have orifices providing clearance for pricker needles of that size, so not the list’s specified dimensions.
Doron had his own lamp site as well as running International Fuel Names. He has decided to close his lamp site & pass on the fuel name site. I have taken it on & had it updated to the latest web standards to make it compatible across mobile devices as well as desktops & with it's own dedicated URL - International Fuel Names
