This 1939 Primus 991 (found in Australia) is the same as the 1939 991 lantern posted by @ROBBO55 here, 1939 Primus 991 - but I think my hood may be in slightly better condition. The glass on this lantern is a generic Schott Suprax of the correct size that I had in stock. The lantern did not have a globe. AD = 1939 The picker was made by @ROBBO55, and an excellent job! I used fibreglass rope for wood stoves as a wick in the bottom of the spirit cup, and a fibre string for external lighting. Interestingly, I've finally worked out how to fit these Primus spirit cups correctly! The string in action here. Testing Up and Running Running on a Peerless 2C-HG mantle. These little 991s are a great lantern! Cheers Tony
@Tony Press Nice Primus lantern. That's the test flame you want to see. Wish all my test flames were like that!
