Howdy all. I have an Optimus 1200 that has a faulty NRV. It is difficult to pump. Also, during and after pumping, the pump shaft pushes out. I believe the NRV is at fault. Have any of you guys repaired and NRV in a 1200? I removed the NRV and inspected it. I believe the pip is toast and need to be replaced.
I looked online for an NRV repair kit but am not sure if the kit I found at the Fettlebox and other sites is the correct kit (NRVKIT).
    Thanks, Chris

Okay. So, I took the NRV out to get it apart. I didn't get it apart last time because it was stuck together. This time, I put the brass cylinder in my portable drill chuck, tightened the chuck, and gave the top a twist with a wrench. It worked perfectly.
I found that the rubber pip was degraded and came out in chunks. The spring and all other parts look fine. The lead washer was buggered. I happened to have a new one, so I put it on. The brass cylinder has a slight crack at the bottom slit. I was the culprit. I tried to use a screwdriver to separate the cylinder from the top piece last time. It doesn't look too bad. I will reuse it.
Now I need to find a rubber (viton?) pip that doesn't have the brass cup. This pip is all rubber. Is there a source in the USA? Here is a few pictures of the NRV components. Chris 1.JPG 2.JPG 3.JPG 4.JPG

I would definitely use the replacement brass cup and standard pip from the Fettlebox. I have replaced a few of these newer Optimus NRV pips and they work well.

    Hi @seavandal!

If You still need NRV parts I have some NOS (rubber pip, the broken part and the lead seal) to repair it with.

Send me a PM if still in need.

    Regards from Sweden

Thanks for the offer Matti. I ordered some parts that might work. Also, there is a source for the complete NRV locally if I need it. I'll keep you guys posted when the lantern is working.
    All the best,
    Chris
