    Hello
I am new to all this but wanted a nice Tilley type lamp for when we go camping and power cuts.
I bought two brass ones from the local car boot sale with the intention of doing one up and passing the other on, but then I found exactly what I wanted a chrome one, so I will soon be restoring that, so the two I have that I havent touched, one is perfect the other has a cracked glass.
What should I ask for them?
Or should I keep one for bits?

Keep them, it's the start of your collection. Believe me it WILL grow!

Thanks but I will be dead before I finish my current projects so cant really start another collection.
Off to the Carboot sale in a few weeks to part with some of my collectables

Anyone's guess at a car boot. I've picked up poor items for a couple of quid, and to be honest the only value is in a good glass.

Highly polished they might make £30 on Ebay, but it's 'pretty' that makes the sale - and it needs to be working. Quality-wise the Gaurdsman from pre '57 is the item from Tilley, the 246b is the 'poor' relation.

Check out Ebay for "Tilley Lamp" and click on completed listings. You will see what prices are for items actually sold from there, and not just the fanciful prices being asked for.
