Hi one and all. I purchased this tilley X246b at the weekend to have a dabble with. It struck me funny to see the shade fitted upside down and a vaperlux prelighter. I may try it later to see if did work ok.
Better reverse the glass first or it won't last very long. If that's been done because otherwise the pre-heater won't fit then you know it's just wrong.
Hello JonD & Firexit. The glass shade has not been touched. I left it how it was for the pictures. I will give it a good clean up and reverse the glass. It seem as though the prelighter will travel up and down with the glass the correct way after just looking since the post.
Sounds good. I have also picked up a Tilley with a Vapalux pre-heater in the past. I think it might have been a good solution to the lost tilley pre-heater torch.
Yes they are quite neat. Not sure whether they will remain in place or not. I will put some new seals in tomorrow and give it a run up.
I've made a few Vapalux style preheater cups for my Tilleys because they don't get misplaced and they look ok.
