If I understand it correctly, the Alkan fuel is for wick lanterns, not for preassure lanterns. Use kerosene instead.

The glowing red J-tube mixer might not be due to using Petromax Alkan paraffin oil.
These Petromax lanterns can even vaporize diesel properly and burn as brightly as when using kerosene (when sufficient startup preheat is ensured). I don't think the Petromax Alkan paraffin oil would burn any worse than diesel.
The glowing J-tube is an issue with various causes. Most of the fuel-air mix was burning inside the tube instead of outside the burner nozzle.

 

It happends often when fuel is low, pressure is low or jet is partly blocked.

- Nozzle or mixing chamber or burner not tighten firmly.
- Distance of J-Tube not correct.
