tilley tank capacity

    hello guys my names jonty and iv just joined the forum as i have just bought my first pressure lantern a tilley storm lamp x246b i think thats right?

    anyway guys i was wondering how many milliliters of paraffin i should put in the tank?

    cheers jeff yea i did some digging on the web and found that a pint and a half is recommended im still waiting on the lamp arriving but cant wait to light my first pressure lamp :) i have a few hurricane lanterns you see and i started to get very intrested in pressure lamps so i think once i light my first one i will be hooked lol.

    This won't be your last! I bought my first one last year, now I have six. I am also fettling another one for somebody else.

    Hello Jonty, the lamping bug tends to bite deeply and there are so many different makes and styles of pressure lighting to research and collect.

    The link below shows earlier Tilley lanterns and they are of better quality than the later lanterns. Jeff.

    well it doesnt look good on the tilley front the seller hasnt sent it theres no reply to emails and iv opened a case.

    but i remember seeing one in a wee antique shop near me so hopefully its still there and ill pick it up.

    Hi Jonty,
    I assume that you bought off evilbay - don't worry too much about lamp not arriving quickly, some sellers take quite a while to actually post stuff, or they may have been away. Keep your fingers crossed.There are many Tilley's around, so if you do have to get another, there are plenty available.
    Enjoy the world of classic lamps - be careful or you'll soon be into pressure stoves as well!

    speaking of pressure stoves.....lol :lol: iv ordered anouther tilley of a diffrent seller the first ones a scam artist had to open a case.
    and now im waiting to pay for it but cant because rbs group messed up there whole banking system lmao, I JUST WANT MY TILLEY lmao after all this faffing around trying to get one itl just make the first one i get even better thanks again guys.
