Hello all, yes you read the heading correctly no Tilley lamps came home with team Buggerlugs.[-(

We decided to go on one of our overnight trips for two days, as I had purchased a Kayen AP2 from Gumtree that needed to be picked up, travelling just over 715km in search of lamps and smoking memorabilia etc.

I did see plenty of Tilley X246 Guardsman, table lamps incomplete and Tilley Kayen mixes at one shop, they had well over 30 lamps, but nothing that interested us so they stayed behind and some were just too expensive as well.

Remember that I said: I only collect Tilley and Kayen lamps, well then you know what happened I ended up with a Coleman CQ table lamp and another, then another and that became 3 ½, I’m working on the ½ to make four, parts are on their way thanks to two members.

Well, you know what happens four becomes five of course, how can you say no when you walk into a second-hand shop and there it is looking at you, begging for you to take it home, well me being a nice guy couldn’t say no, especially at a cheap price even though the Coleman CQ table lamp didn’t have a shade.

Wouldn’t you know it just over 300km away guess what I found? Yes, a lovely shade for my new old Coleman and a globe as well, very happy about that I must say.:D/

I have been collecting irons as well for some time now not many just a few four Tilley irons and one Coleman, I have discovered that you can use a Coleman generator from an iron on the Coleman CQ table lamp, I’m told the R55 uses a 0.008" orifice whereas the iron gen uses a 0.0085" orifice.:-k

Anyway, this is what I ended up with a companion Stove, two Coleman irons, Kayen Ap2 and HR11 heater lamp and a Coleman CQ table lamp.

You will see in the second photo the top part of a Kayen Burner which I got previously on another trip, if you are interested click on the link. What's the chance of this find? (Heater Parts)

    Mixed collection 18 (2).jpg

    Thanks for looking.

Great finds! You found the CQ and the shade separate? The shade appears to be a Coleman 329 Monax shade from the photos. Great days pickin'!
