Sorry about that, but I just couldn't help myself and that's the best I could come up with.

 

Looking very closely I think they've somehow attatched the brass bell to the original hood somehow, probably with rivets. Im guessing the topmost section rusted through so they added the brass to make it look..... Hideous!

 

I was having a pleasant evening off from house renovations until I saw this thread....
