Sounds good to me Colin, why not add the Butterfly, sure we have x3 slightly different globe measurements, couldn't we just list as 'Variation#1, var#2, var#3 or similar?

I'll probably add a note to the effect that sizes can vary by up to 5mm... something like that.

Maybe we can put that as a general remark on the bottom ?
I guess all dimensions may vary a little.

Globes are frequently manufactured by various speciallized parties rather than the lantern manufacturers themselves. Globes from different eras for the same lantern models might also differ in exact norminal dimensions.
It might be useful to name the various possible glass globe manufacturers for the respective lanterns in addition to the main entries. I don't know if that could be conveniently done on the spreadsheet or not.

Adding a section for the maker of the globes is certainly possible, but given the hassle I experienced getting information on the globe dimensions it could take ages!

If anyone already has this info to hand, including which glass manufacturers made which globe, I'll add it to the spreadsheet. The thing is, if it's just one or two random examples, that wouldn't be particularly helpful.

Agreed on that. It would be more important to get the main entries in place first.

Agreed. It's not comprehensive yet but its not bad with either. Some manufacturers are missing because I cant find any info apart from photos in the Reference Gallery.

IS this effort still ongoing. I can add info on three Thermos lantern globe types.

Hi, nothing's been added for a while but it certainly can! New data is always welcome... now all I've got to do is find that spreadsheet!

You can send the info to me at...

    cgeer255@gmail.com

Then I'll compile a new chart and post it on CPL.

I’ve got a couple in the shed, and shall dig them out in a couple of weeks.

    Cheers

    Cool, more data incoming!

BTW, I'd sort of planned on creating a similar spreadsheet for lantern thread patterns, separated by manufacturer but looking at the multitude of different types used, even on a single brand kind of put me off! It's still doable if anyone wants to take the idea forward... maybe separate thread data sheets for each manufacturer is the way to go?
