HELP PLZ TO IDENTIFY

I was helping a friend move couple years back and was given this I'm unfamiliar with what it is so I searched and found the this site anyone can help is it worth anything?

 

Not a lot I am afraid as it has been converted to electricity. Worse still with no earthing.

This is typical wiring in the USA.
Even our modern lamps have only two wires.

 

Really ? - do they not have to be "double insulated" if there is no earth ?

 

I have no idea. Remember we are running 110-120V over here.

FWIW that plug is most likely keyed for polarity.

In my opinion, lamps which are in that condition are useful to strip for parts or should just kept as an electric lamp.

 

This makes me cry!

 

Its not a pretty sight for hardcore pressure lamp enthusiasts but that electrified lamp might someday be there for you at the right place and time.
I'd say use it as the way it is at that moment of time.
