Coleman 118B - safest way to fettle?

    What’s the safest way to start pulling this apart? Should I start above or below the handle?

    Or perhaps it’s best to leave it all as is and simply clean out the burner tubes?

    There’s a piece missing from the top of burner assembly and I might need a new piece (looks like it’s sheared off)

    Start above the handle. Use penetrating oil on the threads.

    Take the control wheel and spindle out, but don’t take the rest apart unless you need to…

    1930 April US Coleman 118B

    The F/A tube is identical to the early 220/228B's on mine. I would assume yours is similar.
