Thanks guys. There was plenty of interest and much talking too which of course meant many cups of tea to stop the throat getting too dry. The weather was very hot and I was about on the edge of my comfort zone but most folk seemed to manage, at least I never heard of anyone passing out because of the heat. Thankfully the temperature dropped quite quickly at sundown and we were able to have a comfortable night's sleep.
Hi Henry, We spoke at Sheffield steam rally but I didn't realise it was you. I was at Driffield too but I had no chance to seek you out. Are you going to the Yorkshire Steam Rally at Scampston Hall?
I haven't booked in for Scamston and it may be too late to apply for an exhibitor's pass but having had a look at the website, I'll email the relevant steward and see if I can get in.
That's a shame Henry. The only other rally we are attending this year is the Hunton Steam Gathering on 10 and 11 September near Bedale. Might be worth a go if you are free?
