Now it's getting dark a bit earlier the opportunity has arrived to sit outside with the light and hiss of a pressure lamp while we still have lovely warm evenings. Tonight's light up is an optimus 930 I found at a car boot sale recently, it came rather dirty and without a glass. A good clean and service got it up and running fitted with a sea anchor mantle, had to find a globe for it, no optimus ones available anywhere so a Coleman one was fitted, the globe cost me more than I paid for the lamp, I love a good bargain. Hi Ian if it works it works! One day the right globe will show up but meantime you have a working lantern and a good one at that!
One thing I have noticed the fuel tank gets very hot during use, is this normal for the small optimus. Ian
It's working well and yes those tanks get very hot and the 930 sometimes suffers from back burn after it's been on for a while.
