Well, I'm chilling in Canada for a few days, and then I drive to Lake George for my first ever collectors shin-dig. Should I be afraid? I'll post pix if I can get a connection. I'm taking a Coleman and my trusty Butterfly. I also have a lot of Tilley parts to feed to the masses. This should be a good time
Yep, Started to get my camping gear together today. I'll be bringing my workhorse Coleman 237 along with a few other acquisitions that I haven't tried out in the woods yet, an Optimus 930 and a Kamplite inverted. Good excuse to bring the AL21 too? See you there Al, Dan
Hello Al, I hope that the weather is fine for the meeting and yes some photos would be welcome, Jeff.
Coleman conventions are a very good friendly few days. You will get to meet some serious collectors such as Terry Marsh and Ed Erb. Ed is one of a very few Amish collectors and a real nice guy but count your fingers if you do any dealing with him. He surely can squeese a $ 'till it cries for help. Fred Kuntz who makes those fantastic mica globes should also be there with Craig Seabrook who does very good repro glass for Coleman. You should also say hello to Gerry Engbring for me. A delightfully eccentric gentleman with a truly great collection and a deal of knowledge of matters Coleman. He's been selling them for years. Lamps to drool over and deals to be done ending with a pretty good and interesting auction. Wish I was going again. ::Neil::
I met many of the folks you mentioned, and it was a fun time! Here's a link to the photos on my Facebook site (it's a public link) https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.3605064640213.2150349.1081556789&type=1&l=6b84c51ef7
Hi, I put some images here: http://www.napoleum.de/diverses/coleman12/ColemanConvention2012.htm Others can be found in the CCF: http://colemancollectorsforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/Lake-George-2012-5913396 and http://colemancollectorsforum.websitetoolbox.com/post/Lake-George-ICCC-Convention-2012-5912812 We had a great time. Erik
Great photos Erik! So many nice people there (yourself included), and a shame we all had to scatter to the four corners of the planet afterwards. I hope to see you again! Al
Hi Erik, It was just GREAT to finally meet you,Erwin, and all that "crossed the pond" to attend. I would like to thank you AGAIN for all your help in setting up/tearing down my display. You share the 2nd place ribbon. 69 lanterns, 22 stoves, and 1 Bullfinch Autoflood. I have NEVER had such a good time in the world of collecting. As you can see, no table lamps. I didn't want to risk transport of vintage glass shades. Can you blame me?But anyway here are images of the "Red Ribbon" display. I had a bit of everything. "Euros"(Petromax, Radius, and Optimus), Coleman, "orphans" including AGM, Akron, Prentiss Wabers, Kamplite, Radiant, Sunshine Safety,Turner and Nulite. For you "stovies" I displayed Joe Pagan's Coleman Model One and a 417B that he restored. Missing tucked back in the corner is the P-W 438P 3 burner hotplate. My apologies for being a crappy photographer. That list had Coleman, AGM, Nulite, Sears Ted Williams, Optimus, and Heinze BW as well as a couple of miltary sterilizer units. The small 1945 AGM and the full size with the Coleman 523 two burner. Both never fired. So that's about it. Oh! I have "raised the call" for posters to add to this thread. Bob
