Just got back. Couple of pals, me and Duncan (‘Twoberth’). Idyllic location, great company and a very enjoyable time spent there. Looking out from our pitches, river at our back, field and wooded hillside out front. Toilet block is that stone-built building over on the right. Looking back at our pitches from there. And at night. River views. There’s a main fast-flowing stream and several islands have resulted from breakaway channels, rejoining the main flow downstream. A spot of island-hopping and I was looking back at our camp. My tarp shelter was underneath an oak tree. After a while I got used to the sound of acorns dropping onto my tarp. I had yet more fun with the tarp when it rained, devising a sort of shishi-odoshi to combat a pool of water gathering inboard of my windscreen, effectively tipping the water off before an excess had formed. (Sainsbury’s bag was my wine cooler) What sounds like bacon frying is the sound of rain (something of a downpour) hitting the tarp Night fell, my Tilley CS56 stove in action, back-lit by the Faser miner’s carbide lamp I featured recently in the Lounge on CCS. Nice ! Just missing some veggie kebabs or veggie bangers is that Dolwyddelan or Dolgellau ? I always get them mixed up, both got a castell as well
