    It's from post 1954 and should have a date stamp underneath for example: 0954AX month year (September 1954).
    The parts that are missing that I can see are the wire guard and a steel mantle.
    You will also need new seals.
    Nice find as well enjoy.

    @Kenny1769

    AW Thacker was the Tilley agent in the USA from about 1957 until around 1968 if I recall correctly.

    Your Tilley R1 Radiator is likely from 1957 onwards therefore likely to have a date stamp on the bottom of the tank.

    Cheers

    Tony

    Oil pump cup and pressureise tank Do a leak test by submerging to the pricker valve You need a "pre-heater" and a "mantle". washers will likely need replacing would not recomend the original ("asbestos" mantle for safety reasons) wire mesh ones are available) Put this in a google search (tilley heater diagram)

    Looks to be in fine condition and a great find. Don't be tempted to hit the bowl with agressive polish. Try soap and water first..

    Soap water worked great it’s really clean and inside of tank is spotless. I don’t think it’s had much use. Thanks

    A draught shield is also generally used to concentrate the heat from the 'pre-heater'. Without it the pre-heating with the metho torch can be more difficult than expected. You can make one out of a suitable sized food can.
