G'day just wanted to say a big Aussie thankyou to "Shedman" Steve. I contacted Steve a while ago in regard to finding me an original Tilley PL 53. Steve when out of his way to make sure I had a quality product. There were a couple of parts missing but Steve tracked those down for me before shipping to Australia. Steve then sent me some photo's of the lamp in its full glory, and arranged shipping. The bad part was that surface mail out of UK to Australia takes approximately two months. Well today out of blue 7 days after posting everything except the fount and handle arrived.

Here is a photo of my new beloved PL 53 working on Australian soil 7 days after postage on an old faunt that I had spare. Well done Steve !!! I am having a drink for you as she lights up my garage. The fount and handle will arrive by boat. Just goes to show the mate-ship available in this forum. Good on ya Steve !!!

Hi Tony, You were most welcome to the PL53. Just keeping fingers crossed that the fount and handle get to you soon. I reckon that this is a classic example of UK Royal Mail X-Raying every thing! Both packages were sent Surface Mail, so the one containing the pressure tank (even though vented and no caps or pump fitted) has been sent surface, while the other was seen to contain all the non-pressure bits and was sent airmail. This is an ongoing problem with shipping lamps and stoves from UK. Enjoy! friend. Steve.
