Just took delivery of this lamp, some of you might have spied it on Ebay.... Sorry if it's not in keeping with 'proper' pressure lamps but I thought the Tilley features were quite interesting all the same compared to a normal Tilley so thought it was worth sharing, maybe this post should be moved to another forum area later ? I can't find any information on this lamp, maybe it is a home made job I have no idea ? In any case I liked the look of it and am very pleased with it, hoping to use it at a few of the vintage engine shows we go to in the summer. If anyone has any info or instructions on this beast I would be pleased to hear more. Thanks David
As a follow up here are a few photos of the lamp lit, very bright and very easy to light. It uses 'Go-Gas' cartridges and has a regulating valve inside the body. You simply light a match, hold it to the mantle and slowly open the valve and it immediately fires up. I am using a Coleman sock type mantle due to the ceramic type gas spigot which doesn't have the Tilley type spigot. Its a nice lamp, something a bit different on the Tilley theme... Regards Dave
It looks like the lamp was manufactured by TGA at Piccadilly 47/48 in London. The sticker says something more, but hidden under the "Marketed by Carrigas"-sticker. Have you tried to lift off the top sticker to see the full text of who manufactured the thing? Then maybe the search for more details will become easier I have found a few possible TGA's but not sure that any of them is the right one.
Here they are: Tudorcourt Gas Appliances Ltd, referenced at http://blowlamp.co.uk/A%20to%20Z%20for%20website%20-%20final.htm So far I know nothing more about them.
