Soak the pre-heater in meths for 4-5 minutes sit on edge of jar till no drips apply to vaporiser and light, when almost burnt out start pumping & open control cock as flame starts to die.

On a serious note, Sainsbury's sell their spices in jars that appear to be almost perfect copies of the Tilley torch jars. Could be useful if you've lost or broken the original?

I’ve had it set up in garden but not done any night fishing as yet I’m hoping to get out this Saturday I’ll update as soon as it’s on the beach can’t wait

 

It would be great to see some photos of your lantern on the beach
