Looks good. I have not yet found a 242 sportlite , only a 1936 and 1946 242 B. Wonder what years the Spotlite name was used.

Adolfo, they run on pure gasoline, Coleman fuel but can run on Naptha bases cleaners for brakes / paint.
Hello Robbo55, Thanks. I heard kerosene was the safest. I wrote to oldtowncolemancenter, they said it could run on kerosene if you preheated longer. Coleman fuel is not available in Chile. When using Petromax, I always burn kerosene. Have you ever used kerosene with yours?
@Adolfo , the 242 B I have here uses shellite. / Coleman fuel. They are also set up for kerosene, note in my pictures there is no meth cup for pre heating. If you have one with a cup it’s kerosene fuel. They have different jet and generator, a Coleman fellas could explain better than me. Very Cool lanterns
Here is my 242B (made in 1947) with its original generator (for gasoline) burning kerosene With kerosene generator Generator Lantern - C22 Inside an old generator for gasoline Inside a newer generator for gasoline Inside a generator for kerosene. It's not just the coil that makes it different, the hole in the jet is a different size to one for gasoline and so is the fine cleaning wire. You'll need one of these Pre-Heater cup Small - C16 and some means of holding it in place so that it doesn't slide up and break the mantle if the lantern gets knocked over.
