It's not complete but I am posting it in the reference gallery to show the tank stampings. It has the later open cage nut and has no Arabic text below the Primus logo. It looks as if it was electrified at some stage and thankfully there are no holes drilled in the tank. Now to locate the missing parts.
Beautiful lantern. It is worth fettling. The hood seems to be in perfect condition, so be careful with it. BR Joachim
You might have 'mixed-up' the presence òf the Arabic inscription. They are more commonly found on the Optimus rather than on the Primus.
@MYN Please check nine threads down in the post of Nils Stephenson. It's one of the later changes of the Primus 1020.
The cage nut is the one I associate with the 1060. It has been seen on some late 1020s, but not that many (so far). The missing Arabic writing is strange. This is pretty much standard from mid 1954 on. Here is a picture of one of mine from 1956.
Maybe this can be of help? http://www.fogas.se/rwdx/files//991-1020s.jpg My best bid would be a banged-up donor lantern - as your fount and top looks very nice indeed.
Those old Primus are very nice lanterns. With or without the Arabic inscription. My observation is that they made almost everything somewhat different from the others of their time . The overall shape and appearance, the details, dimensions, thread types, style of parts and assemblies, etc...almost everything else. There's just something about them that makes them so desirable. The metal work is genuine Swedish quality.
