I see in the Reference Gallery that there is a slot for these, but no entries. Do these models exist? I got a call from my radio ad request regarding my WTB lanterns, lamps, guy said he had a Coleman 135A. Different make or a wickie? Duane
Neil McRae (@Mackburner) has the 135 and 136 listed as "export" in the Pressure Lamp Catalogue: 135 as "Kerosene export R55 generator, 2 pint Silvertone fount, Pyrex globe, parchment shade. 1937 136 as "Kerosene export t-44K generator, 2 pint Coppertone fount, Pyrex globe, parchment shade. 1937". Cheers Tony
Thank you very much, item is local to me. I'll see if I can look at it Thursday after a road trip for roofing material. Duane
Yes both are listed in a 15th March 1937 Coleman Export catalogue. They are pretty much the same as model 168K but with T44 roto type generator and I assume a kero burner. I'm sorry but I can't illustrate this as I don't have permission from the catalogue owner. I see there is a mistake in the PLC entry as I show both with incorrect generators. The catalogue clearly states both 135 & 136 use a T44 (118C299) generator and not the R55 or T44K I list. The only difference is the finish 135 is Silvertone and 136 is Coppertone. I have no idea what the A version might be so will be very interested to see this one. ::Neil::
Thank you, the seller said it still has the decal, plus fuel. He was no help with other details other than the cream color Coleman used, hope to get it Thursday afternoon. I have three other Coleman lamps the same color. Duane
Sounds like it might just be the colour change and the A is cream. Be good to see if it is which will add a line to the PLC at least. ::Neil::
Looks like a 132A, been trying to make it look like a 135A, but took a photo and number curves like a 2 and not a 5. Duane
OK then we get to dial down the excitement then. A pity because to date I don't know of one with an collector. ::Neil::
Guess it would have been too much to ask in a small community. Did find a Perfection oven in good shape at a thrift store I visited. Duane
Cleaning up parts, lye bath for the interior, tons of crud rinsed out before the lye. Messed up a bit of the paint around the fuel bung. Picked up a couple Coleman 242's the same day, failed to note one had a crushed fount slightly as the collar exposes a gap and now see the other had a couple deep rust pits to the fount bottom, I only saw the other day the rusty bottom, not the deep pits. Something to do for a couple days getting these running, keeps me off the streets. Duane
